NATG III(Day 30): Well Deserved Rest

Day 30: Draw any previous theme/Draw every previous theme

I'm too ponied out to try drawing every prompt over again, so no big ass musical number this year.


I do want to take a moment to reflect on this year's training ground, because I don't think I enjoyed it nearly as much as last years. The reason is, well there's two reasons. One is that half the prompts were similar to last year's, and I feel that I had to avoid redrawing something from last year. I would have like more unique prompts to be honest. The second reason is my own damn fault, I tried drawing to many ponies NOT from the show. Whether they were my own OCs or ponified characters, I spent way too many days not drawing the characters I know and love. I realized this second bit around half way through when I drew that pic of Rainbow Dash Cloud Drifting, and from that point I tried to stay away from OCs and ponifications. The damage had been done though and I couldn't help but feel that my heart just wasn't in it.

That leads me to something else I feel I must do now that the Training Grounds are over: I'm taking a break from drawing ponies. It's not going to be for long, but I do want to try getting back into drawing my own original ideas and maybe drag my Webcomic out of its cursed hiatus. I'll definitely draw more ponies as season 4 rolls out, and I'll continue to work on my Fanfiction, but for now this will probably be the last pony you see from me for a while, unless someone commissions me for one.
